Version 1.0 · Last updated June 16, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how YokeBox (“YokeBox,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and discloses information about you when you use our website and services (the “Service”). It also describes the rights and choices available to you, including rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act (collectively, the “CCPA”).

We do not sell or share your personal information. YokeBox does not, and will not, sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We have not sold or shared personal information in the preceding 12 months.

2. Sources of Information

  • Directly from you (e.g., when you register, post content, or contact us);
  • Automatically from your device and browser as you use the Service;
  • From service providers that help us operate the Service (e.g., hosting and email delivery).

3. How and Why We Use Your Information

We use personal information for the following business purposes:

  • To create and manage your account and authenticate you;
  • To provide, maintain, and improve the Service;
  • To verify eligibility (including age) and enforce our terms;
  • To communicate with you, including sending verification and service emails;
  • To secure the Service and detect, prevent, and respond to fraud or abuse;
  • To comply with legal obligations.

4. Disclosure of Personal Information

We disclose personal information only to service providers and contractors who process it on our behalf for the business purposes above, and only under contracts that restrict their use of the information. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security. We do not sell or share personal information.

5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are strictly necessary to operate the Service (such as keeping you signed in) and to understand and improve how the Service is used. When you create an account, you consent to our use of cookies. You can control or disable non-essential cookies through your browser settings; disabling strictly necessary cookies may prevent the Service from functioning correctly.

6. Data Retention

We retain personal information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.

7. Data Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including hashing passwords and restricting access. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Your California Privacy Rights (CCPA/CPRA)

If you are a California resident, you have the following rights with respect to your personal information:

  • Right to Know / Access: Request the categories and specific pieces of personal information we have collected, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of third parties to whom we disclose it.
  • Right to Delete: Request deletion of personal information we collected from you, subject to legal exceptions.
  • Right to Correct: Request correction of inaccurate personal information we maintain about you.
  • Right to Opt-Out of Sale or Sharing: Because we do not sell or share personal information, there is nothing to opt out of; this right is satisfied by default.
  • Right to Limit Use of Sensitive Personal Information: We only use sensitive personal information (account credentials) as necessary to provide the Service, which is exempt from the right to limit; we do not use it for other purposes.
  • Right to Non-Discrimination: We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of your privacy rights.

9. How to Exercise Your Rights

You may submit a request by emailing privacy@yokebox.example. To protect your information, we will verify your request using the information associated with your account before fulfilling it. You may use an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf; we may require the agent to provide proof of authorization and may require you to verify your own identity. We will respond within the timeframes required by the CCPA.

10. “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information”

YokeBox does not sell or share personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA. As a result, we do not offer a separate “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” mechanism because there is no such activity to opt out of.

11. Children’s Privacy

The Service is intended only for users who are at least 18 years old. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18, and we do not sell or share the personal information of minors.

12. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will revise the version number and effective date above and, where appropriate, provide additional notice.
